Hey there badgers,

School starts next week and I hope that you are all excited for an awesome O-Week and an amazing start to the 2015-16 school year! Brock is a wonderful community that allows students to get involved on campus while they complete their schooling. Brock is proud to home to over a hundred different clubs! Question is, how do you know which one is the right one for you? It’s a proven fact that students who chose to get involved in their school community achieve higher grades, and you get to meet other students who share similar interests! What could possibly go wrong, right?!

Brock is home to many sports teams, including rowing, wrestling and cheerleading! Being on a sports team gives Badgers a chance to defend the den against other university teams by bringing home trophies, and protecting the titles we already have. Brock athletes have gone on to become Olympians and a few even competed in this summer’s Pan Am and Parapan Am games hosted in Toronto! You can contact athletics to find out more about athletic clubs and intramurals. They offer a wide variety of non-competitive leagues to help you keep active while having a blast with friends!

Get involved by joining a sports team!

Similarly, Brock has clubs that aim to help students find a balance between school and their faith. From Brock Christian Fellowship to Brock’s Muslim Students’ Association where students can meet occasionally to practice their faith and grow collectively as a group! There are also many clubs on campus that work to promote campus safety, including Badgers Against Drunk Driving and many more! In addition, if you are into singing, dancing or both. Brock has a dance club, a choir and even multiple theatre clubs! Show your best skills centre stage with a bunch of people who love to do the same thing!

There is a club for absolutely every badger out there, all you have to do is take a look and get involved! Check out BUSU’s club directory here and get started! If you can’t find a club that interests you, contact Abby Budgeon (BUSU’s Club Coordinator) at clubs@busu.net to start your own. BUSU provides clubs with funding, space, printing and more! Clubs fair will also be held during Vendor Fair which is an opportunity for students to meet the majority of student clubs on campus.

As always, stay safe badgers and get ready for the Biggest O-week Brock has ever seen! You can visit many clubs on campus during vendor fair, so get out and find a club to make your home!
