How To Spend Your Holidays in the Niagara Region
Hey Badgers! I know that a large population of Brock students are from the Niagara region, so if you’re stumped on which events to check out close to home, here are some ideas!
Santa Claus Parade – Niagara On The Lake
If you really want to get into the Holiday spirit, you have to check out one of the Ontario’s Santa Claus Parades. There’s one happening on Dec. 9, 2017 in the old historic town of Niagara-on-the-lake, starting at 11 am! Trust me, you don’t want to miss it!
Ontario Power Generation’s Winter Festival of Lights
This is an awesome attraction that occurs every year around this time. There are spectacular light shows such as the Fallsview Sound and Light Show, and over 2 million lights displayed along the Niagara Parkway, Dufferin Islands and throughout Niagara Falls!

Floral Showhouse Christmas Display
This attraction is amazing if you love floral displays. This takes place from Nov. 25, 2017 to Jan 12, 2018 from 9 am to 5 pm at the Floral Showhouse on Niagara Parkway! Check it out and you might end up with some nice Instagram photos too!
A Christmas Carol at the Shaw Festival
If you’re a fan of theatre or Charles Dicken’s classic novel A Christmas Carol, you have to check out its adaptation at the Shaw festival! Make sure you bring your student card with you for student discounts!

New Years Eve at Queen Victoria Park
There’s nothing quite like spending New Years Eve at Niagara Falls Queen Victoria Park. If you’re a fan of fireworks (who isn’t?) and musical entertainment, come out to this free event that takes place every year on Dec. 31st at 8 pm!
