Hey Badgers. It’s that time of year again. Whether you’re moving out of res, moving into a new student house or moving home—regardless, it’s moving time!
Here’s a few tips that will help you out during this potentially frustrating and annoying time.
Tip #1: Make a check-list
Hey, maybe you’re one of those people who doesn’t need to see things to help as a reminder. Maybe you’re one of those lucky folks who are able to just remember everything and remain organized without a set of reminders to help you through move-out day.
Well, if you’re not, then it may be a good idea to make a check-list.
A check-list will help you get organized, and put some things into perspective. It gives you an idea of the time-frame you will need to accomplish certain tasks. It will also help ensure you don’t forget anything.
Tip # 2: Label your boxes
Don’t forget to label all your boxes! It makes everything a lot easier when things are labelled, so you have an easier time when it comes to unloading your boxes.
Tip #3: Moving Clothes
Clothes may or may not be the worst part of packing up a room. Personally, I have enough clothes to cloth half of the school, so it’s definitely not easy when it comes to packing up my closest and moving it back home.
You got a suitcase?
Well, I’m sure you’ve heard the hack about rolling all your clothes to fit more? Well, how about packing up your closest? A quick and easy way to keep your clothes all organized is to leave them on the hanger. Try ripping a hole in the bottom of a garbage bag and fitting it over the clothing, and wrap it up at the bottom. This makes it easy to carry, while also protecting your clothes from getting dusty or dirty.
This has to be the best hack for those who are lazy, like myself. It definitely helps make your life a little easier, especially when it comes to unpacking, and you’re able to just hang them back up in your closet.
Tip #4: Wrap Dishes In Clothes
Easier than using up the newspaper.
Tip #5: Don’t forgot to clean up after yourself
It’s important to make sure that you clean up after yourself when moving out! Ensure the house looks in tip-hop shape, whether this be to ensure you get your security deposit bank, or just to be considerate to the person moving in after you.
So, there it is. A few helpful and handy tips thats that can make the moving out process a little easier. So farewell and good luck, Badgers!
