Hello Badgers and welcome to Wellness Week! With exams lurking at our doors, it’s super important to take some time out of your day to breath! The end of the semester is a tough time because assignments are due back to back, and it can be extremely daunting but push on just a little more! We are almost done this semester! Working out is a great way to relieve stress and to stay fit while stressed! The Zone offers a variety of classes that students can take for 40 minutes that allow students to squeeze a work out into their schedules, and deliver a perfectly balanced work out at the same time!
If you like riding bikes, spin classes are for you! However, these classes are no walk in the park. In 40 minutes, your instructor will take you through a series of different exercises that will 100% get your heart rate moving faster than when you see your crush. You will sweat, you may cry but you will leave feeling that amazing burn you get after a good work out. If you are looking for some cardio, check out a spin class!
Full Body Fit:
Full body fit is a crowd favourite, because it’s a quick work out that focuses on your entire body. Sometimes, we want to get a workout into our day but we don’t have the time to do 30 minutes of cardio, 30 minutes of weight training, etc. We are all busy, and this full body fit class works on you from head to toe. Squats, Planks, you pick your poison (well not really, because it’s up to the instructor) and squeeze a full body work out into your day on campus.
Nothing feels better than a good stretch after you’ve been sitting in one place for a long period of time. Yoga feels amazing and is a great way to release stress, and to get rid of any unwanted tension in your muscles! Release all the negativity and you’ll feel a lot better when working on assignments and prepare for exam season.
Swimming is one of the greatest workouts that you can do that not only uses all the muscles in your body, but it’s a great way to wake yourself up for those 8AM classes and exams. Brock has a massive pool that is waiting for you to jump in! Swim laps in lanes, work out with the instructor, which ever you are interested in. Just don’t be afraid to get your feet wet!
Staying active is proven to help students preform better in their academics, and has many health benefits! Get out there badgers and take a course during wellness week! If you aren’t sure what class is best for you, visit the zone and talk to one of the trainers because you don’t want to bite off more than you can chew! Have fun, Badgers!
