Valentine’s Day. Either you love it or you hate it. To ensure that everyone can have a good time this Valentine’s, I’ve listed off a few ideas that you can do with your significant other or with a bunch of friends.

1. Go on a wine tour in Niagara-On-The-Lake.

Wine tours in NOTL can be an extremely fun time. Go out with a bunch of the girls or your date, dress up, and have an experience learning about different wines and pairings. Most wineries for February are having special events held for the Valentine’s weekend – including the “Days of Wine and Chocolate” event! You can even find really good deals on groupon, which I have included for you to take a look at (remember my post about saving money for your New Year Resolutions — keep it up!) Take some pictures and make a whole day out of it!

2. Host a Valentine’s Day Dessert Party!

Invite all of your friends over after dinner to enjoy a Valentine’s Day themed baking party. Tell your friends to each bake their own item (cupcakes, cookies, rice krispy’s, brownies, etc.) and decorate them with pink, red, and white frosting, sprinkles, and chocolates or whatever your heart desires! Baked goods taste so much better when they’re decorated and shaped into valentine’s themes, so bring out the heart-shaped cookie cutters and get baking. Throw on your favourite tunes and dance around, chat, and catch up on the latest gossip. Once you and your friends are all stuffed with treats why not finish the night off with your favourite romantic comedy?

3.Feel adventurous and go indoor rock climbing.

Don’t want to do the usual routine of dinner and a movie? You and your guy or gal can change things up a bit and have some fun while also getting a bit of a workout (win-win in my opinion). Not only that, but you can challenge yourselves and help each other reach the top, thus forming a greater bond between the two of you. This is also going to be a Valentine’s to remember. Don’t have a bf/gf? Head out with your friends and have just as much fun, rather than sitting at home!! I’ve provided a link to a location here in St. Catharines as well.

4. Go to a cooking class.

Learning how to cook and getting to eat it afterwards. It’s fun, challenging, and you get to do it with someone you love. Sounds like a good time to me! Maybe try something different like sushi making classes or pick a specific cuisine that you both like.

5. Hit up Niagara Falls.

Not only can you and your friends or you and your date stroll along the falls and witness one of the world’s natural wonders, but you can also move it along to Clifton Hill where you can go to the arcade, ferris wheel, play mini-putt, bowling, grab a bite to eat, and even see some pretty sad looking wax figures; which will have you both giggling. Also as I mentioned earlier, check out Groupon as they always have deals for Niagara Falls hotels. The casino also has plenty to offer; grab some drinks and grab a table, and maybe you’ll get lucky!

6. Go somewhere you’ve never been before.

Go out on an adventure and explore somewhere you have never been. Either a restaurant you always wanted to try or a completely random restaurant you saw while driving by. Keep things interesting by pushing your limits and trying new things together. This way you will both be excited as to see what is going to happen next.

7. Romantic evening in.

Why not just stay in for the night? Crack open a bottle of wine and enjoy a bowl of fresh spaghetti from the comfort of your own home; maybe even enjoy some chocolates for dessert. Pop in a DVD, cuddle, and just enjoy each others company.

8. Random acts of kindness.

Everyone should feel loved on Valentine’s Day. Why not go out and do some Valentine’s themed random acts of kindness such as giving someone a rose, paying for the person behind you, handing out Valentine’s cards or even chocolate, or give someone a compliment. Put a smile on someone’s face.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
